She was already feeling sick the next day but she forced herself to go to work. She knew she needed to work for Luke’s continues medical needs. He had already asked for medical assistant for his son but they were charging her too much. She knew that the insurance firms was taking advantage of her current predicament but she couldn’t do anything. She must find ways to finance her son’s medical needs. She had even started to sell her things already.
Maya knew she would eventually have to ask for help but from whom. She knew she could not bother her parents as they only have enough for their daily needs. Her sister has the same situation. She knew she could get another job during the weekends but who would take care of her son? She was still thinking about her problem when her boss called her into the office. She knew Don Roberto was going to give her another series of workloads since it was the beginning of the week. She composes herself before she decided to go to her boss’ inner cubicle.
However when she was just a few meters away from the door, she heard a familiar voice inside the room and realize that the man inside the room was the father of his son. She knew she wanted to turn around and leave, but her sense of loyalty to Don Roberto force her to knock at his door and do her job. She knew she was scared but she braces herself for Richard’s wrath. She knocks on her boss inner room and she was ushered to enter.
She knew Richard was already in the room so she tries to remain calm however the coldness in his eyes were tearing her into pieces. She knew she couldn’t blame him but she had hoped they had met again under a different scenario. She decided to focus her attention on her boss but the combination of her illness and over exhaustion wasn’t helping her. She knew she wanted to throw up but she wouldn’t dare so she decided to do the next best thing. She had asked permission from her boss if she could be excused. Her boss had nodded and she was glad but before she could reached the door she felt the room spin around her and her vision started to become bleary and before she realized it she had collapse.
Richard rushed to her side as he realized she was going to faint and he was just in time before Maya fell on the floor. He had heave a sigh of relief. He had lain her gently at the sofa before performing a CPR on her. He was already panicking when Maya doesn’t seem to respond but after a few attempts he had manage to revive Maya. He gave a sigh of relief then but he decided to back of as soon as she regained consciousness as he realized he hasn’t gotten over her.
Richard was puzzled? What was Maya doing here and why was his family so familiar with her? Was she his father’s new assistant? If so, he knew he couldn’t work with her. He was going to resign. He was still contemplating on doing so when he saw his father glare at him. He knew he wanted to talk to him so he followed him to his office. Once there, his father told him the repercussions of his resignation and Richard knew that once more his father had managed to trap him on a job he didn’t want. However he consoles himself that he would be able to make Maya pay for all the wrongdoings she had done to him.
He was still thinking of ways to making her former fiancee pay that he hadn’t noticed that she had already recovered and was glancing at him. Maya knew Richard loathed her and she couldn’t blame her. She had just hoped that she could explain to him what truly happened before she gets terminated for good. She tries to regain her composure and realized that she was still weak but after some time her boss returns and tells her to come to his office once she truly recovers.
Maya acknowledges her boss’s orders and tried to stand up. But she realized she was still disoriented so she decided to wait awhile before proceeding to her boss’ inner office. Once there, Don Roberto asked her if she had truly recovered and when she had assured her boss that she was truly fine, it was then that he had confronted her. Maya was shock and had felt betrayed as she thought Rafi had told his parents about Luke but when his boss told her that he had her investigated she was stunned. She felt violated until Don Roberto told her his reason why she had her investigated.
